I could sit and talk to Dustin Hoffman for hours. Which is usually what happens when I meet up with him: The guy’s a first-class chatterbox. As soon as I saw Last Chance Harvey—his upcoming romantic comedy costarring Emma Thompson—I knew he was a Golden Globe nomination waiting to happen. At age 71, he’s an unorthodox but utterly charming leading man. In part 1 of our OscarWatch interview, you’ll see that we were supposed to chat about his new movie, but as per usual, the conversation meanders a bit to other topics, like his six kids and the world’s first cell phone. I hope you’ll find him as much of a riot as I do.
