Jim Carrey’s second encounter with the Whos, Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!, reverently captures the art and spirit of Theodor Seuss Geisel. Artists cherry-picked from the entire Seuss oeuvre to make the movie feel ”like you’re running around down in Whoville,” says Jimmy Hayward in a directors’ commentary. A smattering of mini-docs examine the actor-character fusion — animators expanded Horton’s mouth once they saw Carrey’s rubber-faced antics in person — and Ice Age‘s Sid stars in a bonus short. B+
