If you’re like me, you can’t get enough delightful Upper East Side bitchery every Monday night via Gossip Girl. Which is why today’s news in Variety that the CW may yet again be prepping a spin-off of the teen soap is OMFG worthy. Seriously, a two-hour block of backstabbing youth and killer fashions? Yes, please!

Wait… why do I say yet again? If you remember, back in June there were reports that the series—like the books on which it’s based—would spin-off Jenny Humphrey’s fashionista character into her own show, The It Girl, which creator Josh Schwartz said at the time was “premature.” But now, Variety quotes insiders as saying The It Girl isn’t to be, and  supposedly each of the nine series regulars is a candidate to headline the new show.

As excited as I was initially for the possible new series (see first paragraph), I’m now faced with a few serious questions: Does Gossip Girl actually need a spin-off, especially if it’ll mess with the perfect character balance the show has built? (It’d be a sin to separate Blair and Chuck, for example.) And most importantly: If the spin-off does happen, who should star? Vote for one of the series’ nine regulars (or soon-to-be Webisode star Dorota!) in our poll below. And then make your best argument for or against the spin-off in the comments section.
