Variety reports that Stan Lee will develop an hour-long Showtime series centered around a gay superhero. Finally! Lance Bass and his epic quest to be “edgy” on Dancing With the Stars are just not cutting it for me. However Lee’s series turns out, it is sure to be more heroic than last year’s YouTube sensation Planet Unicorn (heee-aaay), but possibly not as heroic as Robert Smigel’s beloved SNL series The Ambiguously Gay Duo. The series, based on Perry Moore’s book Hero, will focus on an up-and-coming superhero struggling to hide his secret identities. Is it totally wrong that I want Stan Lee’s gay superhero to almost exactly resemble Prince in his classic white-hot video for “Kiss”? Probably.

Who’s your ideal gay or gay-ish superhero? And what special powers should he or she possess? I’ll start a list: Robin. Northstar from X-Men. Apollo and Midnighter from Stormwatch. Ziggy Stardust. Flight of the Conchords’ sendup of a Ziggy Stardust-era David Bowie. Who else? Valerie Cherish doesn’t count. JK people! Of course she does.
