I’m gaga for Doctor Who. So when Primeval, ITV’s answer to the BBC smash, hit US shores, I thought I’d naturally fall for it. Who doesn’t enjoy British science fiction? But, alas, it didn’t happen right away. And it’s been an on- and off-again love affair. Of course, I adore Juliet Aubrey (we share a name!), Douglas Henshall (if you can get a copy of This Year’s Love, do it now), Ben Miller (off the original Worst Week of My Life), and James Murray (from Marple: The Sittaford Mystery). Plus, Andrew Lee Potts and Hannah Spearritt are just too cute, really. But there’s something slow going about prehistoric beasts traveling to the present through anomalies in the space-time continuum — you need a sonic screwdriver and a TARDIS to sort it out. That said, I’ve been giving Primeval a second chance over the past week due to the new Volume 1 & 2 DVD release. And it holds up pretty well to repeat viewings. We also managed to snag an exclusive clip (which you won’t find in the set), embedded below for you Bits and Bobs readers. So enjoy Andrew Lee Potts explaining how the heck the actors/writers keep track of all the science on the show (while Hannah looks beautiful and picks at her jeans). Then join me in the discussion, are you a Primeval fan?
