Oscar Roundup: Oct. 17
Can I still call it a roundup if there’s only one person to talk about? Sure, why not.
Best Actor, Josh Brolin
The star of last year’s Best Picture winner, No Country for Old Men, has earned rave reviews for his dead-on embodiment of our current Prez. We can’t say the same thing for the movie, though. He’s got tough competition from, among others, another actor playing a president (Frost/Nixon‘s Frank Langella), but industry goodwill from No Country—not to mention his effectively creepy turn in next month’s Milk—puts him in the running for the fourth or fifth slot.
