High School Musical 3: Senior Year

Eeeeee! The collective shriek of tween anticipation pegged to the series’ first big-screen outing naturally extends to its sure-to-be-blockbuster soundtrack. High School Musical 3: Senior Year is a high-fructose musical confection, yes, but expertly done — by turns witty (Ashley Tisdale’s gloriously egoistic ”I Want It All”), anthemic (the sporty-spice basketball breakdown ”Now or Never”), and even genuinely angsty, in a never-had-a-bad-hair-day sort of way (Zac Efron’s searching ”Scream”). B+
