‘Elliott Erwitt’s Dogs’
Famed lensman Elliott Erwitt was once described as ”half-photographer, half-dog,” able to elicit great shots from his canine subjects by speaking to them in their own language: barking. The stars of Elliott Erwitt’s Dogs (teNeues, $55) aren’t primped, frilled, or gussied up in cute costumes. They’re scruffy — often dirty — mutts (purebreds are rarely seen), just doing what dogs do: lounging in the sun, fetching sticks, snuggling with their owners, rolling over for a scratch.
