The Replacements’ reissues
If you remember Tim as one of the ’80s’ best LPs, it may be a shock to read in the reissue’s notes how Paul Westerberg hated the mix. Then you put on the alternate version of ”Kiss Me on the Bus” and realize: Maybe the demos are better. But you know what? Still one of the great albums. The other three CDs reissued by The Replacements provide slightly diminishing returns, charting the band’s path to a ”Sadly Beautiful” final bow.
