Val Emmich's double roles -- The singer drops a new album and appears on ''Ugly Betty''
Is Val Emmich the next Rick Springfield? The emo-pop singer’s new CD, Little Daggers, hits stores two days before his first appearance as an actor on Ugly Betty. He’ll play a musician — and potential Betty love interest — starting with the Sept. 25 season premiere. ”I’ve been waiting for a role like this, where I could be the musician I am,” says the 29-year-old, adding that his new disc fits in better with Betty than his darker past work (you can hear seven tracks at myspace.com/valemmich). ”My music didn’t used to be fun to listen to. It was emotionally draining at times. But now, it’s something you can put on at a party.”
