We gave it a B+

If you don’t already miss the days when fortysomething women headlined smart, slapstick-lite comedies (see: Murphy Brown, Designing Women), you will after seeing these 13 selections from Cybill‘s four seasons. We wish Cybill Shepherd’s interview resolved the series cliff-hanger: Out-of-work actress Cybill and her formerly filthy-rich pal Maryann (Christine Baranski) are arrested for the murder of Maryann’s ex. (Shepherd ponders what could’ve happened at ew.com/cybill.) She does dish on conflicts with CBS censors. She lost the battle over the word vagina — in ”Valentine’s Day,” Cybill rants about heart shapes and symbolism — but she won the war. They okayed labia. Laughs Shepherd: ”I don’t think they knew what it meant.” B+
