The continued ratings power of America’s Got Talent almost makes you wonder why NBC didn’t just bring back David Hasselhoff to star in its upcoming Knight Rider update. Indeed, with an average 12 million viewers in the overnights, the Peacock’s bizarre, two-hour reality competition was the top-rated program of the night.

Over on Fox, the third episode of Bones‘ fourth season averaged 9.7 million viewers — up around 800,000 over last week’s telecast — and exactly the same number as its Sept. 3 season premiere. (All together now, in the voice of the Fox announcer dude: “BONES!”) Coming out of the David Boreanaz-Emily Deschanel crime show, however, Fox’s sitcom pairing of ‘Til Death and newcomer Do Not Disturb dipped precipitously, averaging 5.1 and 4.1 million viewers respectively. Even more troubling, those numbers were off 1.3 million and 800,000, respectively, from last week’s season and series premieres for the shows.

Meanwhile, on The CW,America’s Next Top Model averaged 4.2 million viewers, besting last week’s 3.8 million. Perhaps more people are tuning in as they realize the weekly “My Life as a Cover Girl” has gotten a serious upgrade in the budget/quality department?
