Sexy chanteuse Lenka, who sang with the ambient-experimental band ?the Decoder Ring and studied acting with Cate Blanchett in their native Australia, advises us on one of ?her solo debut’s songs to ”Live Like You’re Dying,” but she spends the rest of her CD lodged firmly in? her navel. Even so, her competent, ?Regina Spektor-inspired vocals,? dappled with strings and joie de vivre whistling on Lenka, give her callow lyrics and twee existential angst (”I’m so tired of me/I want to be free!” she sings at one point) some needed heft, and a reason for fans to stick around.
