Christian Siriano to design gown for 'trophy gal' at Emmys
Reason enough to watch the Emmys on Sept. 21? ABC announced today that Christian Siriano, winner of last season's Project Runway, will design a gown for one of the trophy gals on the telecast. In case you're not keeping up with the deets of this year's all-reality Emmy telecast — in which five reality-show hosts will be emceeing — The Hills' Lauren Conrad has already agreed to design a gown for one of the ladies who bring the Emmys out to the podium (yes, we know: huge responsibility!). Now Siriano will be outfitting one, as well. "It will be such an experience seeing my own creation on stage," Siriano said in a statement.
The Emmy telecast is giving a big shout-out to the unscripted genre because, for the first time, the TV Academy is recognizing excellence in hosting a reality/competition show. That's why Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Jeff Probst (Survivor), Tom Bergeron (Dancing With the Stars), Howie Mandel (Deal or No Deal), and Ryan Seacrest (American Idol) are taking turns at the podium.
