This week’s Project Runway was supposed to be inspired by Marlene Dietrich in A Foreign Affair, but we recognized a few other silver-screen sirens on the catwalk.

All Gowned Up

The draped neck, the cinched waist, the jewel tone…Leanne’s winning amethyst gown recalls Keira Knightley’s ravishing emerald number from Atonement.

Collar ID

This high-necked one-piece has a Foreign influence, but it also echoes Sharon Stone’s infamous Basic Instinct dress. Thankfully, Kenley saved the flash for the color palette instead of the hemline.

Hats Off (Please?)

Dietrich was a café chanteuse in Affair, but Jerell’s model looks like she’d feel more at home singing campfire songs with Shelley Long’s ditzy den mother in Troop Beverly Hills.

Vested Interest

Was she going for vampire? Magician? Superheroine, à la Cameron Diaz in Charlie’s Angels? All we know is, Stella’s puzzling pantsuit got her the boot. Maybe she should’ve stuck with leh-tha.
