(FROM AP) — Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer, according to her publicist. Doctors caught the disease at an early stage, however, and the actress is expected to make a full recovery. The cancer was detected through an MRI ordered by a doctor and is not life-threatening. The 36-year-old Applegate, who became a household name for her portrayal of airhead blonde Kelly Bundy on Married… With Children, has received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her current role on Samantha Who?, in which she plays a woman who wakes from a coma with no memory of who she is. Applegate won an Emmy as outstanding guest actress in a comedy series in 2003 for her role as one of Jennifer Aniston’s sisters in Friends, and she was nominated for a Tony in 2005 for the Broadway musical Sweet Charity.
