There might be a kernel of truth in 21‘s Rounders-meets-“Risky Business tale of MIT brainiacs who conquer Vegas. But after you hear the filmmakers discuss the creative concessions they made to simplify a script that’s only loosely based on a book (Ben Mezrich’s Bringing Down the House) — whose accuracy has been called into question — you’ll understand why 21 feels as fake as the Strip itself.
