(FROM REUTERS) ? Kanye West and the hip-hop group UGK led all winners at Tuesday night’s (June 24) BET Awards, taking home two trophies apiece. West won best male hip-hop artist and best collaboration for his single ”Good Life,” which features T-Pain. UGK won best group and video of the year for ”International Player’s Anthem (I Choose You).” During the acceptance for best group, UGK member Bun B honored former bandmate, Pimp C, who died last December at age 33 from complications of sleep apnea. Missy Elliot won best female hip-hop artist; Chris Brown got best male R&B artist; Alicia Keys won best female R&B artist; and The Dream was named best new artist. Presumptive democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama also loomed large at the ceremony, getting shout-outs from Keys and Sean Combs, and backstage support from Quincy Jones and David Banner. Actress-comedian Kym Whitley, who will appear in a small role the Transformers sequel, wore a purple shirt that read ”Barack Obama 08.” The presumptive Republican presidential nominee, John McCain, was not mentioned by any BET presenters or performers.
