Seven Days in Entertainment
The biggest events from last week including the MTV Movie Awards, Miley Cyrus music video, Bill Cosby, and more
Seth Rogen and James Franco sharing a fake doobie at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards wasn’t the show’s only high point: Rob Schneider’s gold unitard had us thinking we were hallucinating, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reignited their Wayne’s World shtick (we are worthy, apparently), and Chris Brown bent it better than Beckham. Elsewhere, Miley worked up a smash hit and two legends made it A Great Night in Harlem.
While filming the music video for her single ”7 Things,” Miley Cyrus took her aggression out on a Guitar Hero III ax.
WE LIKE MIC
Hosts Danny Glover and Bill Cosby share a moment on stage at the annual A Great Night in Harlem benefit concert at NYC’s Apollo Theater May 29.
Jack Black gets a bear hug at the L.A. premiere of Kung Fu Panda, an animated flick about a bear (voiced by Black) who masters martial arts.
MTV MOVIE AWARDS 2008
Backstage at the MTV Movie Awards (held June 1 at L.A.’s Gibson Amphitheatre), host Mike Myers — in the form of his alter ego Wayne Campbell, left — reunites with his long-lost pal Garth Algar (Dana Carvey).
DAZED AND CONFUSED
Life imitates art (well, sorta) as the stoners from the upcoming comedy Pineapple Express, Seth Rogen and James Franco, light a faux joint before presenting Best Summer Movie So Far.
DANCING WITH THE STARS
R&B singer-turned-actor Chris Brown, who was nominated for Breakthrough Performance for This Christmas, teaches Myers a thing or two about being flexible during a dance-off.
Rob Schneider crashes pal Adam Sandler’s kooky rendition of Carly Simon’s ”Nobody Does It Better.” Why he did it in a gold bodysuit remains unclear.
