(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – Jeff Daniels and Catherine O’Hara have been cast in the as-yet untitled Sam Mendes-directed romantic comedy for Focus Features. Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski star as an expectant couple traveling the country in search of a place to put down roots and raise a family. The screenplay was written by author Dave Eggers and his wife, novelist Vendela Vida. The cast also includes Allison Janney (Juno, West Wing), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Carmen Ejogo (Lackawanna Blues), Jim Gaffigan (My Boys), Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men), Chris Messina (Made of Honor), Kevin J. O’Connor (There Will Be Blood), and Paul Schneider (Lars and the Real Girl). Production starts this week. Daniels just finished shooting State of Play for Universal, while O’Hara most recently voiced a character for Warner Bros.’ Where the Wild Things Are. (Hollywood Reporter)
