PHANTOM PLANET, ”Raise the Dead”
When did the poppy SoCal rockers turn into such excellent Arcade Fire-style anthem builders? Perhaps best known for an ex-member (actor/drummer Jason Schwartzman) and a TV theme song (”California,” which opened The O.C. every week), the quintet — fronted by Alex Greenwald — has gone epic on the title cut from its April 15 release, and it’s a glorious rhythmic racket.
