(FROM VARIETY) ? MTV has greenlit eight episodes of a new reality show from Donald Trump‘s Trump Prods. and RDF USA based on RDF’s hit U.K. show Ladette to Lady. The as-yet untitled U.S. version will send 15 young women to a boarding school to learn, as Variety describes it, ”self-improvement and femme empowerment techniques.” The contestants will then have compete in related challenges. The show is similar to another upcoming MTV series, From Gs to Gents, from Jamie Foxx’s FoxxKing Entertainment, which challenges young guys to become cultured, mannered gentlemen. Both shows are part of an effort by MTV, the network that launched the Jackass franchise, to shift to more socially uplifting programming. ”We began to see in our research about three years ago that this next MTV generation is actually very empowered and highly functioning,” Brian Graden, MTV’s president of entertainment, told Variety. Casting and pre-production on the Trump Prods. show are already underway. (Variety)
