Seven days in entertainment -- Last week's biggest events including Hugh Jackman on the set of ''Wolverine'' and the premiere of Mariah Carey's ''Touch My Body''
While Hugh Jackman was busy masquerading as a seriously bankable superhero on the set of Wolverine, other celebrities spent the week doing some dressing up of their own — Renée Zellweger channeled a fashionista, Mariah Carey rocked her glitzy pop singer look, and Jimmy Kimmel laced up his dancing shoes.
A Wolverine in Street Clothing
Hugh Jackman undergoes a costume adjustment while filming 2009’s anticipated X-Men prequel, Wolverine, in Sydney, Australia. Liev Schreiber, Dominic Monaghan, and will.i.am round out the film’s cast.
Web Obsession of the Week
Parisian dance duo Justice — yes, the same hip DJs who beat an outraged Kanye West at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards — are back with ”DVNO,” a video that repurposes classic ’80s TV logos to spell out the song’s lyrics in neon hues. Great, now we don’t know whether to tap our toes or ransack our old VHS archives! (myspace.com)
Mariah Carey fans gathered at BET’s 106 & Park in NYC on Feb. 27 to watch the diva premiere the video for ”Touch My Body,” the first single off her upcoming album, E=MC2.
So He Thinks He Can Dance
In this exclusive shot, Jimmy Kimmel gets a leg up on his pal (and a contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars) Adam Carolla, for a sketch airing March 12 on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! Carolla’s Dancing partner is two-time champ Julianne Hough.
Renée Zellweger channeled a certain Spice Girl on the set of Chilled in Miami. In the romantic comedy, Zellweger plays a Miami-based businesswoman who relocates to a small town in Minnesota.
Amy Adams signed autographs outside NYC’s Ed Sullivan Theater after her Feb. 28 appearance on CBS’ Late Show. On her pre-Hollywood career in Minnesota, she said, ”I worked at a place called Chanhassen [Dinner Theatres]…which is like the Cadillac of dinner theaters. And I’ve worked in the Pinto of dinner theaters, so I know.”
