It’s amazing Kaki King had time to make Dreaming of Revenge, her fourth album; girlfriend is busy. In ’07, she earned a Golden Globe nod for her work on the Into the Wild soundtrack, contributed savant-like guitar skills to the Foo Fighters’ CD, and appeared as the hand double for the musical prodigy in August Rush. Yet somehow the 28-year-old has created possibly her most sophisticated release yet. Split between swirling instrumentals and contemplative vocal tracks, Revenge should draw gearheads with its technical prowess and the rest of us with its quiet loveliness. A-
