(FROM RETUERS) ? The Directors Guild of America has ratified a three-year contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers. The directors’ governing board announced a deal and recommended approval last month, paving the way for an agreement between the Writers Guild of America and the AMPTP that ended the three-month-old writers’ strike. As is customary for the DGA, the number of ballots cast and the margin of approval were not revealed, but DGA President Michael Apted said the vote ”reflects the strong support and enthusiasm our members have for our new contract.” The new contract goes into effect in July.
