Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman headline a diverse group of stars, also including George Clooney and Denzel Washington, which has been slated to appear on the 80th Academy Awards show

(FROM THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) — Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Denzel Washington, George Clooney, and Nicole Kidman will be among the presenters at the 80th Academy Awards, show producer Gil Cates and Academy president Sid Ganis announced on Thursday. Other celebrities introducing segments or handing out trophies include Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, Steve Carell, Katherine Heigl, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, and Miley Cyrus. Best Original Song performers include Amy Adams (”Happy Working Song” from Enchanted) and Once stars Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (”Falling Slowly”). Also, with the writers strike over, veteran kudofest scribe Bruce Vilanch will return behind the scenes, and host Jon Stewart is expected to rely on witticisms penned by several of his Daily Show writers.
