Straight to DVD

It was a genre once ruled by the likes of Rutger Hauer. These days, all kinds of stars sing the straight-to-DVD blues.

Edison Force (2006)
A cub journalist (Justin Timberlake) thinks that something smells fishy in this flick with Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey.

The Darwin Awards (2007)
Winona Ryder’s shopping spree got more press than this black comedy costarring Joseph Fiennes.

Bordertown (2008)
Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas went to Mexico to make a thriller… and all they got was a lousy DVD release.

Suburban Girl (2008)
Even a literary pedigree (it’s based on The Girls’ Guide to Hunting and Fishing) couldn’t save Alec Baldwin and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
