(FROM REUTERS) – Amy Winehouse has checked into rehab, her record label said on Thursday. The announcement follows a viral video that made rounds earlier in the week that showed the 24-year-old British singer smoking from what appeared to be a glass crack pipe. ”Amy Winehouse’s planned appearance at the NRJ Awards in France on Saturday has been canceled as the artist has entered a rehabilitation clinic,” Universal Music Group said in a statement. ”Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family, and doctors. She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy Awards.”

The Grammys are scheduled for Feb. 10. (Reuters)
