Kiefer Sutherland gets 48-day jail sentence
The actor will begin serving his sentence immediately, and it should not interfere with the shooting of ''24''
Kiefer Sutherland was sentenced to 48 days in jail on Wednesday (Dec. 5) after a drunken-driving arrest in September, his second in three years. The actor immediately reported to lock-up to begin his sentence at the Glendale city jail. Sutherland was already on probation for a 2004 drunken-driving arrest when he was stopped by police on Sept. 25, leaving a Hollywood industry party. He failed a field sobriety test after being pulled over for making an illegal U-turn and later pleaded no contest to having a blood alcohol content over the 0.08 legal limit.
In addition to his 48-day jail sentence, Sutherland has also been placed on five years’ probation, and ordered to pay a $510 fine, enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class, and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months. His incarceration is not expected to conflict with his shooting of the next season of 24. (AP via Yahoo!)
