Today, on our day to give thanks, Terry Gilliam turns 67. Here are a few reasons to be thankful for this Python and director of films great (Brazil, with Jonathan Pryce, pictured) and not-so-great (The Brothers Grimm):

– Gilliam’s working on a new movie called The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, starring Heath Ledger and Christopher Plummer. Here’s hoping that it’s more satisfying than the beautiful but pointless Tideland.
– No matter what he does in the future, Gilliam will still be guy who animated this:

– But I’m most thankful for Terry Gilliam because of Brazil, which will always be one of my favorite movies.

Take a moment away from turkey and football your quality time with family and friends to send Terry some Birthday wishes.
