MTV has greenlit American Idol judge Randy Jackson’s new unscripted dance competition series, tentatively titled Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew. The show, developed by Jackson and the creators of the World Hip Hop Dance Championships, Howard and Karen Schwartz, will feature hip hop dance groups from around the U.S. competing for a cash prize and a touring contract. After the audition phase, the groups will compete in live performance episodes, with viewers voting off one group each week via phone, text message, and the Internet. The project, which was originally announced as part of NBC’s midseason lineup under the title World Moves, is now instead set to air on MTV some time early next year. (Hollywood Reporter)
