+ The team behind The Pursuit of Happyness — including star Will Smith — will reunite for Seven Pounds, a romantic drama about a dejected man who falls in love just as he’s planning to take his own life. (The love interest has yet to be cast.) ”It’s kind of what happens to him and her along the way,” says producer Todd Black. ”It’s a painful, beautiful love story. Will’s in a role he’s never played before.”

+ Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson will play the assistant to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) in the upcoming Sex and the City movie. Hmmm… Perhaps she assists during shoe-shopping sprees?

+ Igby Goes Down director Burr Steers has signed on to direct Zac Efron in the teen comedy 17. The story line is like Big in reverse: Efron portrays a 35-year-old trapped in the body of a teenager. ”It’s one of those stories that gets remade because it’s such a great, magical parable about what’s important in life,” says Steers. ”Going back to high school is a fantasy a lot of people have.”
