+ Season 1 of VH1’s addictive Scott Baio Is 45…and Single ended with the commitment-phobe telling girlfriend Renee he’s ready to marry — only to learn that she’s pregnant. Season 2 begins shooting in October, and ”you’re going to see a guy whose world is being taken over,” says exec producer Jason Hervey, who adds that Baio still hasn’t popped the question. No matter how things work out at home, Hervey thinks all of this newfound attention could lead to a prime-time comeback for Baio: ”I equate him to Teri Hatcher in Desperate Housewives.”

+ David Schwimmer has signed on to Rod Lurie’s political thriller Nothing But the Truth. He’ll play the husband of a journalist (Kate Beckinsale) who’s jailed after not revealing her sources. ”The conflict he has with his wife interests me,” says Schwimmer. ”It revolves around her decision to stick to her principles even if it means sacrificing her family. I like that it’s messy.”
