What piece of memorabilia from your childhood do you wish you still had? Here’s why I’m asking: Earlier this week, I couldn’t fall asleep and thought I’d stall my racing mind by turning on the “Singers & Standards” all-music TV channel. I must’ve paused on either the “’80s” or “Easy Listening” station on my way up the dial, because I found myself listening to Lionel Richie’s “Hello.” Suddenly, a longing came over me… for these puffy stickers that I used to have of him wearing a powder blue sweater and white pants. Now I distinctly remember refusing to use any of them, ever, so I’m not sure how or when I parted with them. But, they’re gone.

Same goes for my Dukes of Hazzard TV dinner tray, which I used more than any child should. Daisy was in the middle — I covered up her face and bosom with my plate — and Luke was on the left and beloved Bo was on the right. How did I let go of that precious (and still, sadly, practical) piece?

Your turn. What collectible would you like to see again? My friend Eva says she’s mourning the loss of her Donny & Marie wireless microphone. At least she still has the commercial for it to enjoy.
