Noreality

B

Is Victor Santiago kidding? That was the question in the late ’90s when the Queens-born rapper N.O.R.E. (then known as Noreaga) exaggerated his short-tempered hoodlum persona to the brink of absurdity on hits like ”Superthug.” Sure enough, he’s as hyperaggressive as ever on this fifth solo release, Noreality. But while foulmouthed rants like ”Paternity Test” wear out their welcome, N.O.R.E. manages to channel his ire into several focused performances (”I’ma Get You,” ”The Rap Game”). Maybe we shouldn’t send him off to anger management just yet. B
