Those who regularly peruse the pages of EW (the magazine) might be familiar with a regular column in the movie review section called “Ask the Critic,” in which we invite readers to pose questions to our film reviewers par excellence, Lisa Schwarzbaum and Owen Gleiberman. Among the recent batch of queries: “What television show was best adapted into a motion picture at least a decade after the series was canceled?” (Owen makes a sturdy case for…The Brady Bunch Movie) and “Who us the most influential movie critic of the last two decades?” (film-school favorites Andrew Sarris and Pauline Kael must be relegated to the row of seats behind Roger Ebert, opines Lisa). I’m guessing a bunch of you have questions you’ve always wanted to ask a professional film critic. We want to hear them. In fact, I’ll start with one of my own: “Hey, Owen or Lisa, what is the single scariest throw-your-popcorn-in-the-air movie moment you’ve ever experienced?” Okay, your turn. And remember to please include your email address so that we may contact you should we print your brilliant and insightful question.
