I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
It looks harmless enough: Adam Sandler and Kevin James playing firemen forced to get married to save their pensions. And pieces of it look kinda funny. But there’s a slightly unbecoming scent of gay panic coming off of Chuck & Larry that gives me pause. B-

Live Free or Die Hard
Bruce Willis is back as John McClane and all is right with the world. Almost. While the action looks first-rate — there are enough whipping cameras to induce the awesomest kind of neck injury — that crusty old ”yippie-ki-yay” motto should’ve been retired. A-

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a fantasy film that struck the same balance as The Princess Bride: both comedic and epic. And it seems like this might be it. It certainly looks the part. And, bonus, Michelle Pfeiffer works it as a wickedly wanton witch. B+

No Reservations
Despite the fact that there’s actually a line that says ”I wish there was a cookbook for life” — ugh — this Catherine Zeta-Jones/Aaron Eckhart romancing-chefs movie looks like smart counterprogramming for an action-y summer. B
