Sunny Sweeney’s East Texas twang is so pronounced, she makes other Southern-dialect queens like Jennifer Nettles sound like John Kerry. Though hers is the kind of roadhouse fare typically tagged ”too country for country” and relegated to the alt-hillbilly bins, Heartbreaker’s Hall of Fame has been picked up by a mainstream country label for rerelease, which almost restores your faith in Nashville. She’s at least as sweet as her name, but plenty raw, too, as heard most irresistibly and lustily in the auctioneer-paced ”If I Could.”
