Stones Throw: Ten Years commemorates the first decade of the off-kilter label Stones Throw, which began as the home of back-to-basics hip-hop artists like Lootpack and Charizma. By 2000, the California-based imprint was releasing albums by freaky psychedelic-rap auteur Madlib (and his squeaky alter ego Quasimoto), ?ber-rare soul reissues (Fabulous Souls), and jazzy instrumental explorations from late producer J Dilla. The first disc is 25 tracks of label highlights; the second finds DJ J-Rocc blending it all into a seamless mixtape.
