Today is Rick Astley’s 41st birthday, and in his honor, we’re gonna go back — 20 years back, in fact — to a time the deep-voiced dude ruled the charts with his video for “Never Gonna Give You Up.” If the clip were a MasterCard commercial, the script would go something like this: “One pair of Ray Ban knockoffs: $5. Nine cans of AquaNet: $39.27. Afternoon banquet hall rental: $425.00. Choreography from low-rent dance studio owned by a friend of Astley’s mom: Priceless.”
