The Look of Matthew
I can’t tell you how fantastic it was to find your issue with Matthew McConaughey on the cover in my mailbox! I felt instantly relaxed and had a smile on my face.

”Sexiest Man Alive? Or Serious Actor?” I think EW answered its own question on page 57 with a breakdown of ”Matthew’s Best Hair” moments (Movies). Even a cover photo and lengthy fluff story can’t quite nail him down as perfectly as that little sidebar. Serious actor, indeed.

‘Mas Appeal
Thank you for the story ”There’s Something About ‘Merry.”’ It may not be a sexy, trendy, bootylicious piece, but insightful, intelligent stories like this are the reason we keep subscribing.

Chris Willman’s story about the origins of ”Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” was one of the best articles I’ve ever read in EW. My eyes welled with tears when songwriter Hugh Martin called his famous ”muddle through” lyric ”so kind of…down-to-earth.” Sob!

Spry Sly
What a refreshing story on Sylvester Stallone (Spotlight). Here’s a man who not only admits his age but embraces it. Sly is much sexier than other actors whose faces are so tight you don’t recognize them. You have to admire the guy…he’s the real deal!

The best-seller chart from Midtown Comics in the Jan. 12 Books section (#915) included Cowboys & Aliens and Dark Tower Sketchbook, which were free giveaways and listed as such on the store’s online ”top seller” chart.

When Ron Burgwinkel saw Billy Idol perform in 2005, he got his money’s worth. Not only did the Gardner, Mass., resident snag a guitar pick, but the rock hero even reached down and…touched Ron’s face. And ”Billy wasn’t done with me, oh, no!” reports the (self-proclaimed) Atomic Idol. ”He came over to me again, holding my hand!” Face-touching? Hand-holding? Should we be expecting a white wedding?
