In their fourth holiday-themed novel, the famed mother-daughter team of Mary and Carol Higgins Clark appear to have snuck a few extra swallows from the Festivus Cup: Santa Cruise manages to be even more asinine than its title portends, durn near to burstin’ with plucky heroines (Clark favorites like Alvirah Meehan and Regan Reilly!), dastardly villains (with names like Bull’s-Eye!), and lots of family-friendly cheer. While multiple mysteries converge upon the innocent ship of the title, they’re not real hard to unravel. Like, Tiny Tim could do it. And then he’d look up at you with his sad eyes and ask, ”Is that all there is?”
