Self-described drug dealer?turned?platinum rapper Young Jeezy spouts the empty rhetoric of a televangelist on The Inspiration; he also has the booming delivery that can make such sermonizers so arresting. His sandpaper snarl, along with mighty production, energizes meaningless lines like ”You can’t take nothin’ for granted/And don’t take granted for nothin”’ on ”Bury Me a G.” On occasion, he eloquently offers up his story as a model of redemption. But it’s the Atlanta MC’s immense personality that truly inspires.
