+ Ryan Murphy — the writer-director behind FX’s Nip/Tuck and the big screen’s Running With Scissors — may be the busiest man in Hollywood. Among his coterie of collaborators: Meryl Streep, Annette Bening, and Gwyneth Paltrow. And that’s just for Dirty Tricks, a Watergate drama that he plans to make his next film project. (Producer Brad Pitt is also being courted for a role.) ”It’s a cast of thousands in crazy ’70s clothes,” says Murphy. ”I’m obsessed with that decade.” The director then moves to the present, helming Eat, Pray, Love, set to star Julia Roberts, and developing FX’s transsexual-sportswriter drama 4 oz. (named for the average weight of a male appendage) and a spin-off for Rosie O’Donnell‘s nouveau riche Nip character. Phew! Marvels Murphy of his starry gravitational pull: ”I feel lucky. Like, how did I get all of these people?”
