We got a pink-powdered-sugar high while gazing at Sofia Coppola’s upcoming MARIE ANTOINETTE — a cinematic confection (in theaters Oct. 20) that depicts the party-hearty lifestyle of the French queen. Played by Kirsten Dunst, the capricious royal was bounced from her gilded world by some rowdy revolutionaries and escorted to the guillotine in 1793. A sad tale, indeed. Lucky for us, we can still indulge in her bon vivant way of life over 200 years later.

Affair of the Necklace
The reine loved her bling! Get regal and drape your nape with the Horse & Carriage necklace by English jewelry designer Tatty Devine ($102, tattydevine.com).

Puff Mommy
Matte noses and bouffants weren’t only in vogue during the 18th century — Scarlett Johansson wore big hair and pale cheeks at a recent premiere. Get the look with Bumble and bumble’s hair powder ($34, bumbleandbumble.com) and loose powder by T. LeClerc ($46, t-leclerc.com).

Drink It In
Throw a très chic tea party and sip from Laurie Simmons’ sweet cups and saucers, decorated with images of dessert ($150 for a set of four, cerealart.com). And do you think Marie used tea bags? Spring for the real stuff — flavorful loose-leaf tea (prices vary per blend, teance.com).

Her Royal Hightop
In the movie, Dunst dons a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers ($40 — $52, converse.com) under her gowns. Dress yours up with silk or velvet ribbon. Apparently, the former Austrian princess went through three yards of trim per day.

Sweet Marie
Get a tasty piece of history with a baked replica of the queen’s guillotined head (Kate Sullivan, cakepower.com, prices upon request), or order the delectable macarons (right) enjoyed by Coppola and crew from Ladurée, the film’s on-set pastry consultant ($58 for 72 pieces, lepicerie.com).
