Pessimists might take news of Joan Jett’s 48th birthday as a glum reminder of time’s relentless march. But optimists would point out that age hasn’t slowed Jett one bit — as this recent clip of her performing ”Riddles,” from her excellent Sinner disc, clearly demonstrates. Either way, though, doesn’t the woman who so memorably recorded ”I Love Rock N’ Roll,” ”Cherry Bomb,” and three decades of hooktastic rock music deserve some hot haiku action on her big day? The answer, of course, is yes. So get writing!
