The eternal question: When will my TV faves hit DVD?

Readers have been writing in to ask when TV shows as fondly recalled as Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, WKRP in Cincinnati, and Fastlane (yes, some people really liked Fastlane — don’t knock it) will be coming to DVD.

I don’t know — how’s that for not waffling? I will add, however, that these are legitimate DVD desires, whereas I do not know why various companies think there’s a desperate need out there for the release (to name just a couple recent real examples) of items like Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie and Punky Brewster: Season 3. Really, when you start digging deep into franchises and series that were never much good to begin with (sorry, Punky), it only adds to the frustration of people who want to know where, for example — and yes, I’m still getting mail about this, too — Homefront is on the DVD horizon. So I turn the question to you: Do you think the economics of putting out Full House: The Complete Fourth Season (coming your way next month!) are more profitable than releasing, say, WKRP?

(Got a DVD-related question for Ken? Post it here.)
