Look, up in the sky! People who really need a hobby! Sci Fi’s Who Wants to Be a Superhero? (July 27, 9 p.m.) lets 11 regular schmoes dress in silly outfits and compete to help Stan Lee create a new comic-book crime fighter. Here, a few of the colorful characters.

LEMURIA
Real name Tonatzin Mondragon
Alleged superpower Channels the energy of the sun.
Apparent superpower Ability to keep various body parts inside her shiny gold uniform. Although that power appears to be fading.
Odds of actually fighting crime 5-1

MAJOR VICTORY
Real name Chris Watters
Alleged superpower Manipulating sound; superstrength.
Apparent superpower Past history as a male exotic dancer gives him killer pose-down skills, but renders his catchphrase ”Be a winner, not a wiener” suspect.
Odds of actually fighting crime 8-1

MONKEY WOMAN
Real name Mary Votava
Alleged superpower None. But she does have secret-weapon bananas attached to her furry loincloth.
Apparent superpower Really annoying monkey screech. And…no, that’s it.
Odds of actually fighting crime 50-1

THE IRON ENFORCER
Real name Steel Chambers (seriously)
Alleged superpower Has been injected with animal DNA and ”dangerously high levels of calcium.” Also carries around a big-ass gun.
Apparent superpower Completely impenetrable to humor.
Odds of actually fighting crime 15-1

FAT MOMMA
Real name Nell Wilson
Alleged superpower Flight, plus power moves such as ”The Super Burp” and something called ”The Fat Clap.”
Apparent superpower Sass. And doughnuts attached to her belt for, one assumes, emergency carbo loading.
Odds of actually fighting crime 100-1
