When will we see ”Bakersville P.D.” on DVD?

Bummed that I missed Bakersville P.D. on Trio. I know I’m not alone in wishing this would show up on DVD. Any signs? —R. Lui

The signs are actually…semi-hopeful. The now-defunct Trio cable channel re-aired the smart 1993-94 Fox comedy starring Ron Eldard and Giancarlo Espositio as part of its Brilliant But Cancelled series. Recently, Universal Studios Home Entertainment released two DVD collections of series featured on Brilliant But Cancelled — Paul Haggis’ EZ Streets and the John Cassavetes series Johnny Staccato. Universal is planning to put out a few more editions of Brilliant But Cancelled DVDs, but hasn’t announced when, or which shows will be included. I would think that Bakersfield, which has a strong fan base in cyberspace and comes up a lot on lists of shows people want to see on DVD, has a good chance of being a contender.
