Want to know what it feels like to be dumped? Watch Camera Obscura‘s kicky video for “Lloyd I’m Ready to Be Heartbroken” (off Let’s Get Out of This Country, their new album) and gaze into the soulful eyes of lead singer Traceyanne Campbell. The track is a response to Lloyd Cole and the Commotions’ “Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken” (thanks for the tip, chromewaves!). But lets focus on the dancing! A bright-eyed couple prances through Campbell’s heartache — and a Tokyo cityscape, a random department store, a field of Warholian boxes of Brillo, er, Lloyd pads, and even scenes from 1946’s Till the Clouds Roll By (that’s June Allyson in the pink slicker). I can’t wait to try out my new dance moves in the grocery store tonight. I may get dumped because of it, but it’ll so be worth it. Traceyanne, I’m here for you!
